PHYSICAL THERAPY
Making Life’s Ride Easier
PHYSICAL THERAPY & POST-OP REHABILITATION SERVICES:
Aquatic Therapy
Our underwater treadmill is used to supplement physical therapy and fitness as it offers a low impact workout. Utilizing the unique properties of water, including buoyancy, resistance, and hydrostatic pressure, we offer a low-impact yet highly effective approach to rehabilitation and exercise. Patients engage in a variety of therapeutic activities and exercises tailored to their individual needs and goals, often focusing on improving range of motion, muscle strength, endurance, balance, and flexibility.
The buoyancy of water reduces stress on joints and allows for greater freedom of movement, making it particularly beneficial for individuals with musculoskeletal conditions, chronic pain, neurological disorders, and those undergoing post-operative rehabilitation. Additionally, the resistance provided by water enhances muscle engagement and promotes cardiovascular fitness. Our sessions are conducted in a safe and controlled environment, offering an enjoyable and therapeutic experience that can accelerate recovery, enhance functional abilities, and improve overall well-being.
Sports Injuries
Our sports injury rehabilitation is a specialized branch of physical therapy focused on treating and preventing injuries sustained during athletic activities. Our providers assess the specific needs of athletes, tailoring treatment plans to address their unique bio-mechanical demands and sport-specific requirements. The goal is to optimize healing, restore function, and facilitate a safe return to sport by addressing deficits in strength, flexibility, balance, proprioception, and movement patterns.
Therapeutic Exercise
A personalized and integral component of physical therapy interventions, aiming to empower individuals to regain function, alleviate pain, prevent injury, and improve overall quality of life. Our physical therapists monitor progress and adjust the exercise program accordingly to ensure optimal outcomes.
Manual Therapy
Manual therapy is a hands-on approach used by physical therapists to diagnose, treat, and manage musculoskeletal conditions and pain. This therapeutic technique involves skilled manipulation of joints, soft tissue mobilization, myofascial release, and stretching. Through precise application of pressure, traction, and movement, our providers address tissue restrictions, reduce muscle tension, enhance circulation, and optimize biomechanics. It is often combined with other treatment modalities such as therapeutic exercises, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Adhesion/Scar Management and patient education to achieve comprehensive and effective rehabilitation outcomes.
Professional Bike Fitting
Find the perfect fit for your bike with our expert Sam Waples. This procedure involves assessing the rider’s body dimensions, flexibility, strength, and riding style to tailor the bike’s geometry and components to their individual needs. By making precise adjustments to saddle height, saddle position, handlebar reach, stem length, and cleat alignment, among other factors, professional bike fitting aims to maximize efficiency, power output, and injury prevention while minimizing discomfort and fatigue during cycling.
Comprehensive Musculoskeletal Evaluations
An evaluation will provide a physical assessment of musculoskeletal structures to help enable us to recognize normal joint appearance and alignment, normal joint range of motion and will help us recognize basic abnormalities of musculoskeletal structure and function.
Pelvic Floor Therapy
Pelvic floor therapy is a specialized form of physical therapy that focuses on evaluating and treating dysfunction of the pelvic floor muscles, which support pelvic organs, maintain continence, and contribute to core stability. It is used to address conditions such as pelvic/lumbar/hip pain, incontinence, pain or difficulty with sex, and postpartum or post-surgical recovery.
Our trained physical therapists provide a personalized treatment plan tailored to your needs with the goal of reducing symptoms and geting back to the activities you enjoy in a supportive and respectful environment.
Massage Therapy
Our holistic healing practice that involves the manipulation of soft tissues to promote relaxation, alleviate pain, reduce stress, and enhance overall well-being. Our providers tailor to the individual needs and preferences of clients, often specializing in specific modalities such as Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, and sports massage. Beyond its physical benefits, massage therapy also provides mental and emotional relief, fostering a sense of relaxation, rejuvenation, and balance.
Rigo Concept for Scoliosis Treatment
Rigo Concept focuses on teaching three-dimensional spine stabilization exercises specific for different curve types of scoliosis and kyphosis to patients and their families.
Custom Foot Orthotics
The process for making custom orthotics at Tailwind PT is as unique as the patient’s mechanics. There is no such thing as a “standard custom orthotic.”
Our providers address various foot and lower limb conditions such as plantar fasciitis, flat feet, high arches, bunions, and over-pronation. By correcting bio-mechanical imbalances, redistributing pressure, and promoting proper alignment during weight-bearing activities, custom foot orthotics can help alleviate discomfort, prevent injuries, and improve mobility and quality of life for individuals with foot-related issues.
